2,2-Dimethyl-1-phenyl-propylamine is a chiral molecule that is synthesized in two steps. First, an imine is formed by reacting a phenyl ring with an amino acid derived from the 2,2-dimethylbenzaldehyde. The product then undergoes hydrogenation to yield the desired enantiomer (S) and (R).
