Informazioni sul prodotto
- Pyrazine, 2,6-diiodo-
2,6-Diiodopyrazine is a triazine that has potent inhibitory activity against an enzyme called beta-glucosidase. 2,6-Diiodopyrazine was found to be a competitive inhibitor of geosmin biosynthesis in myxobacteria. This inhibition may be due to the photophysical properties of this compound, which is bathochromic and has a high degree of fluorescence. The functional theory for this inhibition suggests that 2,6-diiodopyrazine may be introduced into the cell by diffusion and then bind to the enzyme. 2,6-Diiodopyrazine is stable under nonpolar solvents and can also be used as an acceptor in assays.
