4,4'-Dimethoxy diphenylsulfide is a copper complex that is produced in a two-step process. The first step involves the formation of an intermediate compound of potassium thioacetate and 4,4'-dimethoxy diphenyl sulfide. This intermediate compound is then reduced to form the final product. It has been shown to have processable properties and can be used in microscopy techniques. 4,4'-Dimethoxy diphenylsulfide has also been used as a cross-coupling agent for organic synthesis reactions. This compound is recyclable and can be reused at higher temperatures without degradation or loss of activity.
