(2S,4S)-2-(Dimethylaminocarbonyl)-4-mercapto-1-(p-nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl)-1-pyrrolidine is an insulin receptor antagonist that binds to the insulin receptor in the cell membrane and inhibits the activation of downstream signaling pathways, which leads to decreased insulin resistance.
