1,3-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide is a prodrug that is converted to the active drug by the enzyme carboxylesterase. It is an inhibitor of receptor tyrosine kinases, including VEGFR and PDGFR, which are involved in cancer metastasis. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and decrease the number of metastatic lesions in mice. 1,3-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide also inhibits angiogenesis and prevents tumor growth by inhibiting angiogenesis.
