2,4-Diiodooxazole is a functional group that is used in the synthesis of organic compounds. The regioselectivity of this reaction depends on the type and concentration of base used. This functional group can be found in natural products such as 1-hydroxy-4,5-dihydrobenzimidazole and 2,6-dichloroquinoline. It also has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models.
