Ethyl 6-Decyloxy-7-ethoxy-d5-4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarboxylate is a coccidiostat that is used to treat coccidiosis in poultry. It disrupts the development of the oocysts by binding to the sporozoites, preventing them from passing through the intestinal wall and developing into oocysts. Ethyl 6-Decyloxy-7-ethoxy-d5-4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarboxylate has been shown to be effective against avian coccidia, specifically Eimeria tenella, Eimeria necatrix, and Eimeria mivati. This compound binds to the sporozoite surface protein (SP) on the surface of oocysts and prevents their release into the intestine.
