Informazioni sul prodotto
- N,N-Diethylcarbamic acid 3-[(1S)-1-(dimethylamino)ethyl]phenyl ester
Diethyl rivastigmine is a drug that belongs to the class of cholinesterase inhibitors and is used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is prepared by reacting diethyl-L-tartrate with rivastigmine, which produces an impure mixture containing the desired product. The product can be purified using preparative high-performance liquid chromatography or preparative high-performance thin layer chromatography. Reverse phase liquid chromatography can also be used for purification. This method separates the components based on their polarity (hydrophobic). Diethyl rivastigmine has been shown to have reversed phase properties as well as structural similarity to donepezil and galantamine, two drugs that are also used in Alzheimer's disease.
