3-(N,N-Dimethylamino)phenylboronic acid is a phenyl group that is found in the mitochondria. It accepts electrons from other molecules and then transfers them to oxygen. Fluorine is a hydrochloric acid acceptor, which is a molecule that accepts electrons from 3-(N,N-dimethylamino)phenylboronic acid. The fluorescent probe reacts with the functional groups on 3-(N,N-dimethylamino)phenylboronic acid to form conjugates. Fluorescence probes are used for staining cells to see their morphology under microscopy. 3-(N,N-Dimethylamino)phenylboronic acid can be used as an acetonitrile solvent for organic solvents that are difficult to dissolve in water or other solvents.
