1,4-Dibromonaphthalene is a molecule that has been studied extensively as an organic semiconductor. It is a crystalline solid with a low melting point and good solubility in organic solvents. 1,4-Dibromonaphthalene can be used as a model system to study exciton interactions and the optical properties of naphthalenes. The structure of 1,4-dibromonaphthalene has been determined by X-ray crystallography, showing that it is made up of alternating single and double bonds with four bromine atoms at each end.
