Informazioni sul prodotto
- Pyrimidine, 4,6-Dibromo-
4,6-Dibromopyrimidine belongs to the class of antibacterial agents. It has been shown to have a strong activity against tuberculosis and is able to bind to the bacterial DNA. 4,6-Dibromopyrimidine is also able to penetrate mammalian cell membranes and inhibit the anion radical uptake in these cells. This inhibits the production of energy by oxidative phosphorylation and electron transport, leading to cell death. The chemical nature of 4,6-dibromopyrimidine is not yet clear but it has been found that this molecule can be solvated by a variety of solvents. The efficiencies of 4,6-dibromopyrimidine are dependent on its concentration in solution as well as on various factors such as temperature and light intensity.
