3,5-Dibromo-1-methyl-1H-pyridin-2-one is a synthetic compound that was developed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. This small molecule inhibits the enzyme GDC phosphatase, which is an important regulator of G protein signaling. It has been shown to be effective in animal models of arthritis and reverses established disease in mice. 3,5-Dibromo-1-methyl-1H-pyridin-2-one is efficient at inhibiting tyrosine kinases and blocking the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL6.
