2,8-Dimethyldibenzothiophene is a chemical compound that is used in industry as an intermediate to produce other chemicals. The main use of 2,8-dimethyldibenzothiophene is for desulfurization of naphthalene, which can be accomplished by reacting it with hydrogen at high temperatures.
