4-Diazo-4'-methoxydiphenylamine sulfate is a colorant that has a strong yellowish green hue and is used as a dye in textile, paper, and leather. This substance is also used as a thickener in coatings, paints, and plastics. It is hydrophobic, with an approximate molecular weight of about 270. 4-Diazo-4'-methoxydiphenylamine sulfate reacts with nitrite to form diazo compounds. This reaction has been shown to produce reactive dyestuffs, which are mainly amide or nitro groups. 4-Diazo-4'-methoxydiphenylamine sulfate can also be used for pretreating textiles before dyeing them with other substances. It is a synthetic chemical that belongs to the group of dyestuffs and amides.
