- (2,3-Dichlorophenyl)Methanaminium
2,3-Dichlorobenzyl amine is a synthetic chemical that is used as an oxidant in organic synthesis. It reacts with primary and secondary alcohols to produce chloroformates or alkyl halides. 2,3-Dichlorobenzyl amine has shown to be a potent inhibitor of dopamine oxidation, which may contribute to its neurotoxicity.
2,3-Dichlorobenzyl amine can also be used for the filtration of organic liquids and gases. It has been shown to be effective in removing even very small particles from the liquid or gas being filtered.
