3,3-Difluoropyrrolidine is a synthetic drug that inhibits the activity of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), an enzyme that degrades the glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1). It has been shown to inhibit fluconazole resistance in Candida species and has been identified as a novel allosteric modulator of DPP-4. 3,3-Difluoropyrrolidine has also been shown to have potent antiviral properties against Hepatitis C virus, which may be due to its inhibition of viral DNA replication. This drug is orally active.
