2,3-Difluorobenzophenone is a fluorinated organic compound that is synthesized by the reaction of hydrogen fluoride and sodium carbonate in the presence of zirconium oxide. This compound has been shown to have proton conductivity, which makes it an efficient electrolyte for use in electrochemical devices. 2,3-Difluorobenzophenone also has high chemical stability and can be used to acylate nitro compounds. The nucleophilic nature of this molecule facilitates its use as a polymerization initiator.
