- Benzenamine, 3,4-difluoro-2-methoxy- (9CI)
- 6-Amino-2,3-difluoroanisole
3,4-Difluoro-2-Methoxyaniline is a synthetic compound that has antibacterial activity. It is an acid compound that has a diamine group and has been shown to be active against bacteria in laboratory experiments. This compound also chelates metal ions such as copper, zinc, and iron ions. 3,4-Difluoro-2-Methoxyaniline may also have effects on the metabolism of cells by inhibiting nitric oxide synthase and blocking the production of nitric oxide. The nitro group present in this compound can also undergo reduction to form an amine or undergo substitution reactions with other compounds. 3,4-Difluoro-2-Methoxyaniline undergoes quinolinecarboxylic acid hydrolysis in acidic conditions and decomposes under basic conditions to produce chloride or nitro groups.
