4-(3,4-Difluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyric Acid is a diluent that is used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. It is also used as a solvent for other chemicals. 4-(3,4-Difluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyric Acid has been shown to be active against fungal diseases such as Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum canis. This compound has also been shown to be an effective tranquillizer when administered orally or intraperitoneally. 4-(3,4-Difluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyric Acid is used in the synthesis of c1-c3 alkyl haloalkynyl cyanoalkyl esters and c1-c3 alkyl haloalkynyl amides.
