Ethyl 3-amino-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate is a synthetic chemical that is used as an herbicide. It is a diazotized compound that reacts with ethyl chloroformate to form an ethyl chloroformate ester. The reaction of this ester with sulfur or sulfonylurea produces the active herbicidal product. Ethyl 3-amino-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4 carboxylate has shown herbicidal effects on many plants and has been used to control weeds in rice fields.
