Ethyl 3-ethoxy-3-iminopropanoate hydrochloride is a synthesized drug that has inhibitory properties on the nervous system. It binds to and blocks the imidazoline receptor, which inhibits the synthesis of the neurotransmitter noradrenaline. This leads to an increase in the amount of acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter that stimulates muscle contraction. The imidazoline receptor is insensitive to changes in temperature and pH, and it is not affected by benzodiazepine. Ethyl 3-ethoxy-3-iminopropanoate hydrochloride has been synthetized from nitrophenyl, yielding imidazoline, imidazopyridine, and other products.
