7-Epi-docetaxel is a hydrophobic, hydroxylated taxane. It has been shown to be an effective anti-cancer agent in preclinical models of breast cancer and prostate cancer. 7-Epi-docetaxel is a prodrug that is converted to docetaxel in vivo. This drug can be administered intravenously or by injection and it has been shown to inhibit tumor growth by inhibiting cell division. 7-Epi-docetaxel is not active against bacteria and does not have any known toxic effects on the human body.
