8-epi-prostaglandin F2a is a naturally occurring prostaglandin that is synthesized from arachidonic acid. It has been shown to have antioxidative properties and can be used as a potential biomarker for oxidative injury. The 8-epi-PGF2α levels in the experimental model were found to be significantly higher than those in the control group. This suggests that 8-epi-PGF2α may be a useful indicator of oxidative injury, which may lead to neuronal death.
