Descrizione

Ethyl [(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)oxy]acetate (ETSA) is an epoxidation reagent that can be used for the asymmetric synthesis of chiral epoxides. The use of ETSA as an epoxidation reagent has been shown to produce diastereoselective reactions with a high degree of enantioselectivity. This compound is useful for the conversion of carboxylic acid derivatives to their corresponding cyclohexene derivatives, which are used in pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
ETSA may be used in Sharpless asymmetric epoxidations and metathesis reactions to produce optically active alcohols and chiral esters.
