Descrizione:
Ethyl 2-aminothiazole-5-carboxylate is an antibiotic that is synthesized by the condensation of 2-chloro-6-methylaniline and thiazole-5-carboxylic acid with subsequent amidation. It can be used for the synthesis of chlorinated products and has been shown to be effective against Gram positive bacteria. This compound is soluble in water, chloroform, ethanol, acetone, benzene, ether, and ethyl acetate. It hydrolyzes under basic conditions to give a white crystalline solid that melts at 130°C.
