(4R,6S)-6-[(E)-2-[2-(4-Fluoro-3-methylphenyl)-4,4,6,6-tetramethylcyclohexenyl]ethenyl]-4-hydroxyoxan-2-one is a pharmacological agent that belongs to the group of angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It is used for the treatment of coronary heart diseases and other metabolic disorders. It has been shown to be safe and effective in humans with congestive heart failure. This drug also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the choroidal neovascularization in rats. The mechanism of action is not known but may involve the inhibition of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathways.
