Flumethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that inhibits the gsh-px enzyme, which detoxifies reactive oxygen species. Flumethrin is used to control insects such as mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks. Flumethrin has been shown to have chronic toxicity effects in rats and mice, with sublethal doses causing DNA damage and impaired reproduction. In addition, flumethrin resistance has been seen in many insect populations. Flumethrin has been found to be highly effective against mosquito larvae for up to six months.
