- α-Fluorocyclohexanone
- 2-Fluorocyclohexanone
2-fluorocyclohexan-1-one is a functional molecule that is used in the stabilization of 2-d nmr spectra. It is mainly used as a hydrogen fluoride scavenger and as an additive to other chemical compounds. 2-Fluorocyclohexan-1-one can function as a nucleophile, attacking carbonyl groups or electron deficient molecules to form β-unsaturated ketones. In the presence of 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid, 2-fluorocyclohexan-1-one can be used for the asymmetric synthesis of enantiomers.
2Fluorocyclohexanone has been shown to have growth promoting activity at low doses in some bacteria and fungi.
