Descrizione:
6-Fluoro-4-nitro-3H-2-benzofuran-1-one is a radioactively labeled synthetic compound that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the uptake of glucose into muscle tissue in vivo. It has also been shown to have potential as a radiotracer for positron emission tomography (PET) studies. 6FNFBFO was found to inhibit glucose uptake via competitive inhibition with the sodium/glucose cotransporter in skeletal muscle cells. This study highlights the clinical and pharmacological potential of 6FNFBFO, which may lead to its use as an antiobesity agent or for imaging purposes.
