3-(2-Furyl)-1H-pyrazole is a potent antifungal agent that inhibits the growth of fungi. It binds to the enzyme subtilisin, which is involved in cell wall synthesis, and prevents its activation. This inhibition causes the cell to die by autolysis. 3-(2-Furyl)-1H-pyrazole has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cancer cells and a potent antiviral potency. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as an agent for treating inflammatory diseases. 3-(2-Furyl)-1H-pyrazole inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNFα, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-12 by inhibiting NFκB activity at the translational level. The antiinflammatory effect of 3-(2-furyl) 1H pyrazole may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
