- 2-Furancarboximidamide
Furan-2-carboxamidine is a heteroaryl compound that is used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. Furan-2-carboxamidine has been shown to reduce the severity of bowel inflammation by inhibiting the production of nitric oxide, which plays a role in the development of bowel disease. The drug may also inhibit adenosine receptor antagonists and adenosine, which are involved in regulating nerve cell activity. Furan-2-carboxamidine also inhibits dyskinesia and reduces the severity of Parkinson's disease. This drug is not soluble in water but can be solvated with hydrochloric acid or furfural. Furan-2-carboxamidine does not react with hydroxylamine under basic conditions, but reacts at pH values less than 7.
