2-Fluoro-5-methylphenol is a compound that belongs to the isomeric class of hydroxy compounds. It has an affinity for unidentified solvents, and its reaction temperatures range from -20°C to 130°C. The yield of 2-fluoro-5-methylphenol is approximately 90%. This compound can be synthetically produced by reacting dopamine with fluorine in the presence of an acid catalyst. 2-Fluoro-5-methylphenol has two isomers, namely 5-fluoro-2-methylphenol and 3,4,5′trifluorobenzene (TFB). TFB can be synthesized by reacting n propyl bromide with methyl iodide in the presence of a base catalyst.
