- Benzoic Acid, 5-Fluoro-2-Iodo-
5-Fluoro-2-iodobenzoic acid (5FIA) is a modulator of the catecholamine neurotransmitter system that has been shown to modulate the effects of the neurotransmitter dopamine. 5FIA has been shown to be an additive in the synthesis of a number of biomolecules, including DNA and proteins. It is also a congener in the synthesis of phthalimides, amines, and other compounds. This drug has been shown to interact with humans functionally as a ligand for norepinephrine receptors. 5FIA can function as an agonist or antagonist at these receptors depending on its concentration.
