Fmoc-4-aminobenzoic acid is a potent blocker of the b2 receptor. It inhibits the uptake of amides and other compounds that are transported by the b2 receptor. Fmoc-4-aminobenzoic acid has been shown to have antimicrobial activity in vitro, but its use in vivo has not been studied. This compound has also been shown to be effective against high blood pressure in rats, and may be useful for treating hypertension.
