Fmoc-D-beta-homophenylalanine is a drug that has been shown to be effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is a cyclic peptide with a high risk of toxicity, which may be reduced by using it in combination with other drugs. Fmoc-D-beta-homophenylalanine has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on biofilm formation and can help prevent the spread of antibiotic resistance. Treatment strategies for drug-resistant, methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus are still being researched.
