Descrizione

6-Fluoro-DL-tryptophan is a fluorinated analog of tryptophan with affinity constants for the synthetase enzyme. It is synthesized by corynebacterium glutamicum and has been used to create monoclonal antibodies. This compound also inhibits the uptake of tryptophan by bacteria and fungi, which may be due to its fluorescence properties or its ability to interfere with protein synthesis. 6-Fluoro-DL-tryptophan is also used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products that are labeled with fluorochrome compounds, as well as in immunohistochemical studies of human serum proteins.
