4-Fluoro-3-nitrobenzotrifluoride (4FNBF) is a synthetic chemical that belongs to the group of beta-aminoesters. It has been used in pharmacological studies as an excitotoxic agent and has been found to be effective in inducing seizures, coma, and death. 4FNBF also binds to amines, such as norepinephrine and serotonin, which are neurotransmitters involved in pain modulation. The target tissue for 4FNBF is the central nervous system. This chemical can induce apoptotic cell death in rats by inhibiting DNA synthesis and RNA transcription.
