Fmoc-Ser(tBu)-OL is a macrocyclic β-amino acid that is synthesized on a solid phase. This molecule can be used as a building block for the synthesis of macrocycles and it can also be used in combinatorial chemistry for the preparation of amino alcohols and their corresponding macrocycles. Fmoc-Ser(tBu)-OL has been shown to have high nucleophilic reactivity, which makes it an excellent candidate for reactions such as hydrolysis, esterification, amidation, transamination, and reductive amination.
