Informazioni sul prodotto
- 2-Fluoroethyl 2-Methylprop-2-Enoate
2-Fluoroethyl methacrylate is a monomer that belongs to the class of methacrylates. It is a colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor and has a boiling point of about 40°C. 2-Fluoroethyl methacrylate reacts with silicon, forming polymers that are insoluble in water and resistant to degradation by light or heat. Polymers formed from this monomer can be switched between transparent and opaque states by thermally controlling the solution temperature. The polymerization yield of 2-fluoroethyl methacrylate is low at temperatures below -50°C, but increases at higher temperatures. This monomer has been used for the preparation of photoelectron microscopy samples, as well as x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy samples for structural analysis. The morphology of these materials has been studied using transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
