4'-Fluoro-2'-Nitroacetanilide is a reactive, nitrogen-containing fatty acid that is found in the leaves of plants. It reacts with carbon disulphide to form the reactive intermediate 4'-fluoro-2'-nitrosobenzene. This compound has been used to study nucleophilic reactions. Nitrogen atoms are present in the molecule as nitro groups and amide groups. The presence of these functional groups makes 4'-fluoro-2'-nitroacetanilide an active site for many enzymatic reactions, including endocannabinoid metabolism and acetylation.
