2-(2-Fluoroacetyl)Oxyethyl 2-Fluoroacetate is a glycol ether that is used as a solvent in paints, coatings, and adhesives. It is also used to produce fluoroacetic acid, which is an organic compound with the chemical formula CHFCOOH. This chemical has been used as a solvent and can be found in many products including perfumes and cosmetics. 2-(2-Fluoroacetyl)Oxyethyl 2-Fluoroacetate may also be found in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics such as pipes and vinyl flooring. The chemical may react with chlorine or mercury to form chloroform or methyl mercury compounds, respectively.
