4-Fluorobenzyl alcohol is a compound that has two asymmetric carbon atoms. It is a diphenyl ether that exhibits vibrational properties and is a moderately reactive chemical. 4-Fluorobenzyl alcohol can be used to synthesize fatty acids and creatinine sulfate, which are important in the metabolism of carbohydrates. This chemical also has biological properties, such as inhibiting the population growth of P. aeruginosa and inhibiting acetate extract. The active chemical may react with chloride to form an ionic bond with low-energy dihedral rotation, which will then lead to the displacement of the chlorine atom from its position on the benzene ring.
