The (2S,3R)-1-(Boc)-3-Hydroxypyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester ee is a chiral molecule that can be used for the synthesis of optically pure 2-hydroxy-pyrrolidines. The stereoselective synthesis of this compound was achieved by intramolecular carboxylic acid chloride hydrolysis followed by hydrosilylation. This methodology has been applied to the synthesis of several other chiral compounds with good yield and high optical purity.
