HNTU is a reactive and acidic compound with a carbonyl group that can be used to synthesize anti-inflammatory compounds. HNTU is also an inhibitor of the synthesis of fatty acids, which may be useful in the treatment of chronic bronchitis. This compound is also a modulator of nucleophilic groups and has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of inflammatory compounds. It has also been shown to have cosmeceutical properties. HNTU binds to tetrapeptides and inhibits their demethylation, leading to increased levels of growth factors.
