Hydridotetrakis(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(I) is a catalyst that is used to catalyze reactions. It reacts with β-unsaturated ketones and aldehydes in the presence of hydroxyl groups and an alkene to form hydridotetrakis(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(II). This catalyst is not very selective, as it will react with any molecule that has an electron-donating group. Hydridotetrakis(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(I) can also be used to catalyze reactions involving bond cleavage.
