Hosenkoside M is a terpene that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. This compound also has an effect on human lung cells, as it inhibits cell proliferation by affecting the G2/M phase transition. Hosenkoside M is detected using mass spectrometric techniques. It can be identified using evaporative techniques and then fractionated using high performance liquid chromatography. The skeleton can be obtained from the molecule using electrospray ionization (ESI) and then analyzed with a mass spectrometer.
