Descrizione

Indole-3-carboxylic acid is an amide that is extracted from the acetate form of indole. It has a linear calibration curve and can be used as an analytical method to measure human serum levels of this compound. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to molecules in their cell walls and preventing them from reproducing. Indole-3-carboxylic acid also has antimicrobial properties, with resistance being found mainly in bacteria with inorganic acid groups.
