Influenza PR8 Hemagglutinin Peptide (110-119) trifluoroacetate salt H-Ser-Phe-Glu-Arg-Phe-Glu-Ile-Phe-Pro-Lys-OH trifluoroacetate sa lt is a surface glycoprotein that has been shown to enhance the survival of neuronal cells. It is also involved in the regulation of energy metabolism and iron homeostasis, as well as in the induction of autoimmune diseases. This peptide contains a hydroxyl group, which can be oxidized by reactive oxygen species and may have neurotrophic effects. Trifluoroacetate salts of this protein are ester linkages that bind iron tightly and have been used for the treatment of iron overload.
