This protein is found in the brain and regulates the immune response. 4-IodobenzylamineHydrochloride has been used to diagnose multiple sclerosis and other diseases. It also has regulatory effects on adipokines and fatty acids, which are linked to inflammatory diseases such as diabetes mellitus. 4-IodobenzylamineHydrochloride binds to lipoproteins, which may lead to the production of a density lipoprotein (a form of high-density lipoprotein) that can be measured with clinical studies.
