3-Iodoindazole is an amide that has been synthesized with the intent of being used as a cancer therapy. It is activated by sodium-dependent glucose and lps-induced tnf-α. 3-Iodoindazole has shown anticancer activity in animal models, and in vitro anticancer effects on human bladder cells. 3-Iodoindazole inhibits soluble guanylate cyclase, which is involved in inflammatory diseases and receptor binding. It also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit certain types of protein kinases or to its ability to inhibit GTPase activity. 3-Iodoindazole also binds to DNA and RNA, inhibiting cellular growth.
